Fourier-transform infrared analysis and interpretation for bituminous binders

چکیده
InfraRed spectrometry is a powerful technique to characterise bituminous binders. The methodology not fully harmonised and may lead variability. RILEM-272-PIM-TG1, evaluated seven complex bituminous, for which eleven laboratories performed FTIR. While, the spectra showed similar trends, further analysis was needed improve comparison. A specific approach applied on two binders, unmodified polymer modified bitumen, ageing conditioning. Combining Gaussian distribution derivative confirmed good alignments of laboratory results. two-step model developed improving interpretation. It consists baseline adjustment with eight points normalisation over maximum aliphatic peak. Furthermore, fingerprint determined main absorption peaks defined by their location shape. Only intensity varies from This general can be used as platform aging or binder complexity.

Fourier transform infrared spectrometry.
The theory and instrumentation for Fourier transform infrared spectrometry are discussed. These instruments measure infrared spectra of the same quality as spectra measured on grating spectrometers in about one thousandth of the time. Their sensitivity advantage for spectra measured in equal times is between a factor of 10 and 100. Commercial spectrometers are now available from nine vendors in...
متن کاملFourier Transform Infrared and Fourier Transform Raman Spectroscopy of Polymers
This chapter covers the fundamental principles and current applications of Fourier transform (FT) infrared and Fourier transform Raman spectroscopies as utilized in the analysis of polymeric materials. The primary emphasis of the first part is on the principles and advantages of these interferometric methods, whereas the remaining sections illustrate numerous applications focusing on the struct...
متن کاملEXCESS THERMODYNAMIC PROPERTIES CALCULATIONS FOR ALCOHOLS IN INERT SOLVENTS BASED ON FOURIER TRANSFORM INFRARED SPECTROSCOPY MEASUREMENTS
Self-association of alcohols; including ethanol, methanol, cyclopentanol and octanol in separate mixtures with inert solvents have been studied using FT-IR spectroscopy. Except for the band at 3640 cm–1 in the IR spectrum of the alcohols which is due to the monomer species, the presence of other bands in the region of stretching vibrational frequencies of OH (3100-3700 cm–1) are attributed to t...
متن کاملFourier transform infrared spectroscopy for analysis of kidney stones
Purpose To compare the results of a chemical method of kidney stone analysis with the results of Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy. Materials and Methods Kidney stones collected between June and October 2015 were simultaneously analyzed by chemical and FT-IR methods. Results Kidney stones (n=449) were collected from patients from 1 to 81 years old. Most stones were from adults...
متن کاملFourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy for Natural Fibres
Infrared spectroscopy is nowadays one of the most important analytical techniques available to scientists. One of the greatest advantages of the infrared spectroscopy is that virtually any sample in any state may be analyzed. For example, liquids, solutions, pastes, powders, films, fibres, gases and surfaces can all be examined with a judicious choice of sampling technique. The review by Annett...
